Ice Cube Blasts Elon Musk in Scathing Social Media Diss
In a fiery comeback, Ice Cube slammed Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter), after Musk shared an old meme about the rapper. Musk had posted a picture of Ice Cube alongside an image of an ice cube with the caption “Remember Ice Cube? This is him now, feel old yet?”
Responding to Musk’s tweet, the N.W.A rapper wrote, “Remember Twitter? This is it now, feel stupid yet?” He accompanied his message with a picture of the platform’s former bird logo on fire next to a dumpster.
Musk seemed to share the meme after a user named @greg16676935420 replied to one of his posts with the same image.
“I posted this innocent meme under one of Elon’s posts and now I accidentally started beef between @elonmusk and @icecube,” they wrote in response to Ice Cube’s diss.
Ice Cube has been a controversial figure on Musk’s platform, facing backlash in June 2020 for sharing antisemitic content. The Daily Beast reported on his history of anti-Semitism.
The rapper defended his posts and conspiracy theories, stating, “What if I was just pro-Black? This is the truth, brother. I didn’t lie about anyone. I didn’t say I was against anybody. Don’t believe the hype. I’ve been telling my truth.”
Following Musk’s $44 billion acquisition of the platform in 2022, Ice Cube called on the billionaire to remove his “shadow ban.”
Ice Cube’s diss received praise from many users on X, who compared it to an Uno reverse card played on Musk.
