Father’s Concerns Spark Viral Response from Dedicated Officers

In Columbus, Ohio, a father recently documented an encounter with two city officers at his door in a viral video. Following the incident, the Columbus Police Department stated that it is currently investigating the officers’ actions. According to a report by 10TV, the father had called the police because an adult had manipulated his 11-year-old daughter into sharing explicit photos. However, by the time the officers arrived, the girl had already gone to bed. The father had hoped that the officers could speak with her. The exchange between the father and the officers, as reported by the Columbus Dispatch, went as follows:

• Officer: “I mean, she can probably get charged with child porn.”
• Father: “Who, she can? She’s 11 years old.”
• Officer: “She’s creating it, right?”
• Father: “She’s 11 years old.”
• Officer: “Doesn’t matter. She’s still making porn.”
• Father: “No, she’s not. She’s being manipulated by [an] adult on the internet.”
• Officer: “Is she taking pictures, though?”

The conversation ends with the father asking, “Are you serious?” and returning inside his house. As of Tuesday morning, the video he posted on TikTok has amassed over 720,000 views. The city police department has acknowledged the video and stated that incidents involving minors are treated with utmost concern. They have notified the Sexual Assault Unit detectives, who have initiated an investigation into the matter.

According to Insider, the use of the term “child porn” by the officer is generally frowned upon by advocates, as it implies that the imagery is equivalent to adult porn produced by consenting adults.
