Fatal Shooting and Injury in North Charlotte – WSOC TV Report

Tragedy struck in north Charlotte as a double shooting left one woman dead and another injured. The incident took place at West Sugar Creek Road at Interstate 85 late Monday afternoon, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The initial call came in around 5 p.m. reporting an assault, prompting investigators to respond to the scene. According to MEDIC, two individuals were shot, one sustaining life-threatening injuries and the other with minor injuries.

Major Torri Tellis of the CMPD emphasized the importance of gathering information from witnesses and reviewing any potential surveillance footage from the surrounding businesses to piece together what led to the shooting.

Investigators found evidence on Reagan Drive and near the Shell gas station, while a significant police presence was also observed at the Garden Inn and Suites motel. The CMPD is exploring all leads and following up on tips from the community to identify the suspects.
