A man was found dead in Borger and three others were hospitalized after a shooting was reported on Saturday night.
On Saturday, October 21st, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Borger Regional Communications Center received a 911 call regarding a disturbance in the 700 Block of North Main Street in Borger, according to the Borger Police Department. During the 911 call, the caller informed dispatch that shots had been fired.
Officers quickly arrived at the scene and discovered multiple individuals with gunshot wounds. Three individuals were transported to local hospitals for medical care and are currently in critical but stable condition as of the most recent update on Sunday.
At the crime scene, the police found one deceased man; his identity is being withheld until his next of kin is notified.
Based on a preliminary investigation, the police determined that there was an altercation involving several individuals, during which multiple firearms were produced and shots were fired.
“Law enforcement is not actively searching for additional suspects at this time, but we urge anyone who witnessed the altercation to contact the Borger Police Department,” stated a news release. “The investigation is ongoing, and more details will be provided as they become available.”
The police have indicated that this appears to be an isolated incident and that there is currently no danger to the community.
