Fani Willis Encourages Peers to Disregard False Information in Trump’s Latest Assault Campaign

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis firmly dismissed the false and defamatory claims made by Donald Trump in a recent ad, urging her colleagues to not engage with the misinformation. With reports suggesting that Willis is preparing to present a case against Trump to a grand jury, the former president has escalated his attacks on the Georgia prosecutor.

According to Willis, the ad airing in the Atlanta market for five days contains outright lies, including the claim that she concealed her relationship with a gang member. However, Willis has instructed her staff not to feel obliged to defend her against these attacks.

In an email sent to her team, she acknowledges their supportive nature but advises against responding to any negativity or comments about the ad. Willis emphasizes that they should approach their work professionally and not let it become personal.

The ad, titled “The Fraud Squad,” can be viewed on Trump’s YouTube channel. It targets not only Willis but also President Joe Biden and three other prosecutors handling cases against Trump: Alvin Bragg, Letitia James, and Jack Smith. The video refers to Willis as Biden’s “newest lackey,” accusing her of corruption and alleging, without evidence, that she had an affair with a gang member.

The ad cites a Rolling Stone article featuring an interview with YSL Mondo, a client whom Willis represented in an aggravated assault case during her private practice. However, the article does not mention any romantic relationship between Willis and Mondo. The report highlights Mondo’s creation of the Young Slime Life music crew, in which Willis prosecuted Young Thug and 27 other members of the Young Slime Life criminal gang for gang-related charges and violations of Georgia’s criminal racketeering law.

As reports circulate about Willis presenting her case against Trump to a Georgia grand jury next week, the attack ad serves as a prelude to her anticipated actions. CNN reports that Willis is expected to seek over 12 indictments against Trump.

Trump has consistently dismissed the investigation as a “witch hunt” and referred to Willis as a “young racist in Atlanta” during a recent campaign event in New Hampshire. Amid her investigation into Trump, Willis has faced racist emails and voicemails.

Trump already faces three indictments: one in Manhattan for his involvement in a hush money payment scheme led by District Attorney Bragg, and two federal cases overseen by special counsel Smith, accusing him of mishandling classified documents and attempting to overturn Biden’s 2020 election victory.

In addition, New York Attorney General Letitia James has sued Trump, his business, and three of his children for tax fraud, with a trial scheduled for October.
