After 15 years of portraying Fury, Jackson is finally getting his own project, “Secret Invasion.” This show, which will be available on Disney+ starting this Wednesday, revolves around Fury joining forces with his allies to combat the infiltration of Earth by shape-shifting creatures known as Skrulls.

Jackson described the series as “gritty and dark” and mentioned that he hadn’t previously campaigned for his own Marvel project. However, he expressed his belief that his character should have been a part of certain films, such as “Captain America: Civil War.”

In addition to the present-day MCU setting of “Secret Invasion,” the actor revealed his desire to explore Fury’s backstory as a spy and his connection with other individuals before the emergence of superhumans.

“I’m grateful for the work and the character,” Jackson expressed regarding his Marvel journey.
