This Season ushers in an initial level cap of 25 and an all-new level-25 endgame, featuring a 10-player Blackfathom Deeps raid with fresh mechanics, reimagined bosses, and irresistible rewards to challenge your gameplay.
What’s in Store
Discover Your Playstyle
Hidden throughout Azeroth are special runes that await your discovery. These runes can enhance player characters by offering access to abilities not previously available in WoW Classic. Some runes will be easily found, others will be hidden, and a few will require teamwork to uncover.
Freedom to Experiment
Through Rune engraving, players can freely apply and remove abilities to experiment with various builds and create a truly unique play style.
A New Approach to Endgame
The Season of Discovery begins with an initial level cap of 25. As time progresses, the cap will gradually increase to provide a more progressive endgame experience, ushering in new abilities for players as they level up.
Classic Dungeons Reimagined
Each phase’s level cap will introduce fresh content, starting with the level 25 Blackfathom Deeps 10-player raid: previously a 5-player dungeon, it has been revamped with redesigned boss encounters that will present thrilling challenges for players.
Test Your Builds and Skills
For those interested in putting their builds and skills to the test against others, there will be an outdoor PvP event in Ashenvale. Additionally, the Honor system and Battlegrounds will be available from day one.
Realms of Adventure Await
We’ve expanded realm capacity for Season of Discovery to accommodate more players. However, players may encounter some queues during the initial launch. We’ll monitor realm health and populations closely to determine if additional realms are needed.
PvP realms, specifically, are designed to maintain faction balance as they grow. To ensure a balance between the factions, temporary limitations may be imposed on creating new characters in a more dominant faction on a specific realm until a closer equilibrium is established. Please note that this will only apply to PvP realms, and will not affect PvE realms.
Getting Into Season of Discovery
To embark on your Season of Discovery journey, download and install the Battle.net desktop app. Access to Season of Discovery is included with an active World of Warcraft subscription—no additional purchase necessary. Subscriptions can be obtained from the Battle.net Shop.
- Open the Battle.net desktop app, and select World of Warcraft
- Select World of Warcraft Classic. If you have more than one World of Warcraft account, select the active one you want to play on (first-time adventurers will need to create a new Battle.net account.
- Click the Install button, and wait for the installation to complete.
- Once the installation is complete, click the Play button.
- Select the Season of Discovery realm you want to play on, visible in the Realm Selection tabs along with Classic and Hardcore.
- Select Create New Character to choose your faction, class, and race, then customize your character and name them.
