Mercedes is expanding its Maybach lineup beyond the current high-end versions of the S-Class sedan and two SUVs, the EQS and the GLS. According to Car and Driver, Mercedes-Maybach has plans for additional vehicles under the brand’s Myth and Legend models. These models are known for their ultra-expensiveness, limited production runs, and the option for exclusive one-off creations commissioned by wealthy collectors. The “Legend” models, in particular, have a starting price of $1 million or more.
Among the upcoming releases, a new Mercedes-Maybach SL roadster is in the works. This vehicle is expected to feature more bling per square inch of sheet metal than any other passenger car, rivaling the likes of a Kahn or Mansory conversion. A senior company official revealed that they aim to transform Maybach into a coachbuilt super Mercedes, taking personalization to a whole new level.
Future Maybach models will come with unique body panels and made-to-measure body-in-white, enhancing their exclusivity and craftsmanship. Car and Driver also reported that BMW plans a similar transformation for its Alpina brand.
Additionally, the Maybach name will adorn Mercedes’ upcoming flagship sedan on the MB.EA-L architecture. This sedan will have its own distinctive styling and a bespoke cockpit featuring a customized Hyperscreen, creating a truly luxurious driving experience.
