It’s that time of the year when Samsung is inadvertently in the spotlight due to major leaks about its upcoming flagship Galaxy S24 and S24 Ultra smartphones. These leaks have provided an early look at what to expect from these highly anticipated devices.
Recently, Windows Report has revealed new official Samsung images featuring the Galaxy S24 Ultra with a redesigned flat screen. This aligns with an earlier leak by Twitter user David Martin, who shared images of the purported new S24 Ultra that exhibited sharper screen edges and a new gray color finish.
As per recent reports, Samsung’s upcoming S24 devices are expected to introduce on-device generative AI software powered by the company’s Gauss model. These leaks suggest that the S24 lineup will utilize this technology for real-time translation capabilities across various messaging apps and support for over a dozen languages. Additionally, Samsung has demonstrated a new AI-powered camera framing feature during an event in October, further highlighting the company’s focus on incorporating AI in its devices.
Android Authority has reported that the FCC recently disclosed key processor and modem specifications for the S24 lineup. While the specific chip was not mentioned, details indicate that all S24 models will feature Qualcomm modems with Smart Transit functionality. It is highly likely that the US models of the S24 series will be equipped with the latest on-device AI-capable Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chips, although international versions may feature Samsung’s Exynos processors and modems.
In addition to the redesigned screen and advanced processor, the S24 Ultra is set to debut with a titanium frame, an enhanced 50MP 5x telephoto camera, improved vapor chamber cooling, and Wi-Fi 7 capabilities. Leaked specifications indicate that the S24 Ultra will maintain several features from its predecessor, the S23 Ultra, such as a 6.8-inch Quad-HD screen, 120Hz refresh rate, storage configurations, 12GB of RAM, and a 5,000mAh battery.
Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus models are expected to feature designs reminiscent of their predecessors, while introducing new color variations such as onyx black, marble gray, cobalt violet, and amber yellow. The leaks also indicate that the Ultra model will offer color options that align with the regular S24 phones. Further details suggest a larger 6.7-inch Quad-HD screen, a 4,900mAh battery, and 12GB of RAM for the S24 Plus, while the standard S24 will see minor upgrades to screen size and battery capacity.
Samsung has not yet officially announced the successor to its Galaxy S23 smartphone line, although based on historical patterns, the unveiling of these new devices can be expected early next year at a Samsung Unpacked event.
