Jamie Oliver’s Pizzeria: First and last Australian restaurant of celebrity chef falters owing over $1million
Jamie Oliver’s Pizzeria in Australia has closed its doors after experiencing financial difficulties, resulting in voluntary administration.
Jamie Oliver’s Pizzeria, located at the Gold Coast’s Pacific Fair, was the renowned chef’s first establishment in Australia. It officially closed on September 8, following the closures of his previous restaurants in the country over the years.
The management of the venue was under the Hallmark Hospitality Group, which oversees several other restaurants and nightclubs in the Gold Coast area.
According to director Matt Heanen, the company had only $7336 in its possession. Additionally, it owed $91,843 in rent and $915,681 in payments to related parties, totaling over $1 million.
