The New York Islanders are gearing up for training camp with a roster that remains largely intact from last season’s playoff team. Despite their early exit from the playoffs, captain Anders Lee is optimistic about the upcoming season.
Lee said, “We fell short in a tough series. Obviously, it doesn’t sit well. It’s not where we wanted to be. But we have a lot to build on, and it’s a fresh start for us.”
Training camp begins with physicals on Wednesday, followed by on-ice sessions starting Thursday. Prior to camp, the players participated in the Kan Jam event at Northwell Health Ice Center to raise funds for families affected by cancer.
This was the first in-person event hosted by Lee since 2019 due to the pandemic. Lee expressed his excitement about being able to host the event again and spend time with kids and families.
