Reports suggest that Rockstar Games is gearing up to unveil the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI this week. According to Bloomberg , an official announcement may come soon, followed by a trailer for the game in December to commemorate 25 years of Rockstar Games.
Earlier this year, Rockstar confirmed that the next Grand Theft Auto title was in active development. Bloomberg also reported that Grand Theft Auto VI will introduce the franchise’s first female protagonist, inspired by Bonnie and Clyde, and will be set in a fictionalized version of Miami, similar to the iconic location in 2002’s GTA: Vice City.
Last year, a massive leak revealed gameplay footage of GTA VI, including a female character engaging in a restaurant robbery. The leaked clips, although early and unfinished, provided a glimpse of the game’s potential and setting.
It was also revealed that a member of the Lapsus$ hacking group leaked GTA VI gameplay after orchestrating high-profile cyberattacks on Rockstar Games, Uber, and Nvidia. This incident led to legal consequences for the perpetrator.
As speculation around Grand Theft Auto VI intensifies, anticipation for the successor to GTA V continues to grow. With GTA V now a decade old and sales surpassing 185 million copies, fans are eager for the next installment. Reports suggest that Grand Theft Auto VI is likely to make its debut in 2024, ushering in a new era for the iconic gaming franchise.
