The plane’s CEO and founder, Kirk Hawkins, a former Air Force F-16 pilot and Stanford Business School grad, has opened flight training facilities in California and Florida to help people learn to fly. The plane’s features, such as the angle of attack indicator and spin-resistant airframe, are designed for safety and ease of use. The plane is a popular choice for aviation newbies, with over 1,800 customers putting in deposits toward purchasing one which currently comes in at $207,000.
