Get ready for the revelation: Dolly Parton has finally given an explanation for her preference to communicate via fax.
“In all honesty, I prefer not to enter the digital world. The people around me are more than enough,” Parton revealed on “The View,” during a recent episode broadcasted on Wednesday.
Without her trusty fax machine, Parton explained that she would be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of messages she receives.
“If I were to engage in all that, it would consume too much of my time trying to respond to everyone trying to reach me,” Parton said. “So, I simply say, ‘Hey, send me a fax! Fax me or give me a call, and I’ll get back to you.'”
It comes as no surprise that Parton values her time greatly.
After all, she is a ten-time Grammy Award-winner with a record-breaking 65 studio albums to her name, and she received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011. Parton is also set to release a new album, “Rockstar,” on November 17.
The country star doesn’t even make exceptions for her friends.
“Kenny Rogers used to bug me about it,” Parton shared. “I told him, ‘If I need to get in touch with you, I’ll send you a message by carrier pigeon. You always know how to reach me when you want something!'”
Parton’s love for faxing has been mentioned by other celebrities close to her, including her goddaughter Miley Cyrus and more recently, her friend Reba McEntire.
During an appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” in May 2022, Cyrus explained the elaborate process through which her godmother communicates with her.
“We do use the phone, but she sends a fax first. Then, someone scans the fax and converts it into a text message, which is then sent to me,” Cyrus revealed to Meyers.
Last week, during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” McEntire admitted that the only way to contact Parton is through fax since Parton doesn’t use text or email.
“I don’t have her phone number, and I once asked Kenny Rogers if he had Dolly’s number,” McEntire shared on the show. “He said, ‘No.'”
