June 16 (UPI) — Dolly Parton, the legendary country music icon, has delighted her fans with the release of two brand new tracks from her upcoming rock album.
This 77-year-old music powerhouse has collaborated with Rob Halford from Judas Priest, along with special guests Nikki Sixx and John 5, on “Bygones.” In addition, she partnered with Ann Wilson from Heart to create the captivating track “Magic Man.” Both songs were made available on Friday.
Parton also took to Instagram to share promotional artwork for these new tracks. She wrote, “Two brand new tracks from Rockstar are out now!”
“Bygones” and “Magic Man” are featured on Parton’s highly anticipated debut rock album titled Rockstar, which is slated for release on November 17.
Rockstar consists of a total of 30 tracks, including nine original songs and 21 covers of beloved rock classics. Parton has collaborated with a star-studded lineup of artists such as Miley Cyrus, Lizzo, Stevie Nicks, Elton John, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Steven Tyler, Pat Benetar, and Debby Harry, to name a few.
Expressing her excitement, Parton shared, “I’m so thrilled to finally present my first-ever Rock and Roll album, Rockstar! It was an incredible honor to work with some of the most iconic singers and musicians of all time. Singing these iconic songs throughout the album brought me immeasurable joy.”
Parton first revealed her plans for a rock album in an interview on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon in November 2022.
