One particularly coveted in-game resource is Rare Candies, available in regular and XL varieties, which can be transformed into any specific Pokemon Candy.

Pokemon Go fans debate Rare Candy usage
A post by user _ChrisRiot on the Pokemon Go subreddit sparked the debate. They asked, “Running out of space, what should I do with my rare candy?” while displaying an extensive stockpile of 1,111 Rare Candies and 191 Rare Candy XL.
Many suggested using Rare Candies on powerful Pokemon like Legendaries and Psuedo-Legendaries, while others proposed allocating them to rare and strong Mythical Pokemon. Another approach involved focusing on PvP and meta, or simply evolving and leveling up favorite Pokemon to complete the collection.
