The vehicle financing company Moneybarn has conducted a study to determine the car brands that have the safest drivers on the roads, according to public opinion.
More than 4,000 motorists participated in the study, providing their views on drivers of specific car brands to create an overall driver score out of ten.
According to Moneybarn, Volvo owners were ranked as the best drivers in the UK, with a score of 8.15.
While Volvo drivers were once mocked for being slow and clumsy, the report revealed that 7.7 percent of the public viewed them as the most patient drivers, and only 1.7 percent considered them rude.
Volkswagen owners also performed well, scoring 7.6 out of 10, with many stating that they are considerate towards other road users.

Here are the rankings of the best drivers in the UK (Score out of 10):

- Volkswagen – 7.6
- Ford – 7.59
- Mini – 5.74

- BMW – 2.59
- Land Rover – 2.22

However, not all car brands are known for their considerate drivers, as BMW and Land Rover cars scored poorly on the list.
According to the study, 23.6 percent of motorists stated that BMW owners were the rudest drivers on the road, while other participants claimed that Land Rover drivers were the least patient.
Furthermore, van owners were seen as the worst motorists on the road, receiving a miserable score of 0.56 out of 10.
A spokesperson for Moneybarn explained that many driver stereotypes stem from the popular ‘white van man’ image.
They said: “Nearly 19 percent of survey respondents believe that those driving vans are the worst drivers. Van drivers were also considered the least considerate and were often labeled as rude on the road.
“Over the years, white van drivers have developed a reputation, with many tradespeople being associated with the ‘White Van Man’ label.”
