Apple has just released the first beta of iOS 17.2, and it comes with a ton of exciting features. Another cool feature in iOS 17.2 is the ability to add sticker responses to messages in the Messages app. By long-pressing on a chat bubble, users can quickly add a sticker or emoji as a response instead of a traditional tapback reaction. This adds a more expressive and creative element to conversations.
Apple Music has also received some updates in iOS 17.2. Users can now create collaborative playlists that multiple people can contribute to. Simply create a playlist, tap on the three-dot icon, select “Collaborate,” and share the link with friends. Additionally, songs that users have favorited in the Apple Music app are now automatically aggregated into a Favorites playlist.
Another feature introduced in iOS 17.2 is the Translate option for the Action Button on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. This allows users to easily translate text by holding down the Action Button and using the Translate window. The languages used for translation are customizable within the Translate app.
Additionally, iOS 17.2 includes the long-awaited iMessage Contact Key Verification feature, which ensures secure and private conversations by verifying users’ contacts during in-person meetings or FaceTime calls. This is particularly useful for individuals facing digital threats.
Other updates in iOS 17.2 include improvements to Messages in iCloud syncing, changes to the Apple TV app, the addition of a Local Awareness option for emergency alerts, new weather widgets, a digital clock widget, customization options for Memoji, support for Live Activities in the News app, and more.
