Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley recently had a health scare, but his wife shared some positive news about his recovery on Instagram. Whibley was hospitalized for pneumonia and faced the possibility of heart failure. However, after responding well to treatment, he was discharged and is now under the care of his mother, who is a registered nurse, and his wife. The Instagram post included a photo of a bouquet of flowers on a shelf, along with pictures of the couple and their children.
Whibley was rushed to the hospital after battling pneumonia, which occurred shortly after the band’s tour concluded. Ariana Whibley shared pictures from the ordeal, showing her husband being loaded into an ambulance and holding his hand as he wore a pulse oximeter. Due to the strain on his heart, Whibley had to stay in the hospital for a few days for treatment. However, his condition has improved, and he is now able to breathe without as much pain.
Ariana Whibley expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community. The couple was supposed to be celebrating their 8-year wedding anniversary in Chicago before the hospitalization occurred. They have two young children together.
This recent hospitalization is not the first health scare for Whibley. In 2014, he was diagnosed with liver and kidney failure after collapsing and spending a week in a coma. The band, which Whibley founded in 1996 with Steve Jocz, Richard Roy, and Jon Marshall, announced their disbandment in May of this year after 27 years.
Despite the health scare, Whibley is on the road to recovery, and the couple is grateful for the support they have received during this challenging time.
