D.A. Investigator Tragically Loses Life in Devastating South Gate Collision

An investigator and his wife, a teacher, were tragically killed in a car accident in South Gate. The cause of the crash is currently being investigated.

The victims, Sgt. Emilio Guerrero, aged 52, and Annabel Guerrero, aged 47, were residents of Downey, as stated in a press release by the Downey Police Department.

The collision took place at the intersection of Paramount Boulevard and Gardendale Street at around 2:05 p.m. on Sunday, according to the authorities.

A 60-year-old South Gate man driving a vehicle crashed into the vehicle driven by Emilio Guerrero, according to the police.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.

Janice Hahn, a supervisor of Los Angeles County, expressed her condolences on social media, recognizing Emilio and Annabel Guerrero as dedicated public servants. She also mentioned that the loss has deeply affected the Downey community, and offered her prayers to their two daughters and other loved ones.
