A Venetian boat company has banned Kanye West and his partner, Bianca Censori, after images surfaced last week of the two in a compromising position in the back of a water taxi.
In a statement to the Independent, a spokesperson for Venezia Turismo Motascafi, a water taxi company based in the Italian city, said that West and Censori “will certainly no longer be welcome on board our company’s boats.”
“We completely dissociate ourselves from such acts and behaviour,” the statement read.
West, who legally changed his name to Ye in 2021, and Censori were photographed engaging in inappropriate behavior on the back of the boat, with Censori kneeling in front of West and West’s nudity visible in some of the photos.
The images went viral, prompting criticism of the rapper and Censori for their public display of such acts in a traditionally conservative Catholic country.
In the statement, the spokesperson for the boat company noted that the driver was unaware of the “obscenities” on board due to navigation duties. If he had known, the spokesperson said, he would have immediately reported the incident to the authorities and disembarked the passengers.
The statement also mentioned that another person was present in the taxi at the time, obstructing the captain’s view of the back area. Hence, he was unaware of what was happening.
West, 46, was first seen publicly with Censori, 28, an architectural designer who works for his company Yeezy, earlier this year. They were photographed dining together at the Waldorf Astoria in January. Later that month, TMZ reported their non-legally binding wedding ceremony, which took place a few months after West’s divorce from Kim Kardashian was finalized.
West’s relationship with Censori has faced criticism in light of his past anti-Semitic remarks, including tweets about going “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE” in 2022 and comments about the “Jewish underground media mafia” controlling Hollywood on Chris Cuomo’s show in the same year.
He reiterated these remarks during an appearance on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’s TV show in December 2022, even expressing positive views about Hitler. These comments led to multiple suspensions from social media platforms and the termination of partnerships with Gap, Balenciaga, and Adidas.
Rolling Stone has reached out to Venezia Turismo Motascafi and West for a comment.
