During my visit, the mere mention of Peking duck at WU XING Chinese Restaurant was enough to make me rush there. This renowned establishment, beloved by locals and tourists alike, offers authentic Peking duck that is marinated and roasted using locally sourced star-apple firewood. The result is succulent, flavorful meat with crispy skin. I had the pleasure of meeting chef Lucas Zhou, who skillfully sliced the crispy skin while servers wrapped it in delicate pancakes. The remaining meat was stir-fried and served wrapped in lettuce. Just when we thought our palates were satisfied, a slew of specialties filled our table— dim sum delicacies, vibrant green-colored rice, and guilt-alleviating vegetables. Dessert came as a welcome relief after our feast. The Macau-style baked egg tart was delightfully creamy and crispy, and the bun filled with milky egg cream provided a light and satisfying end to the meal, complemented by the restaurant’s excellent tea.

For dinner, we ventured to SMOKI MOTO, an upscale grill and dining experience. Despite the name suggesting a smoky ambiance, the restaurant offers not only steaks but also Korean and Japanese cuisine. To set the mood, cocktails were served on the veranda, which offered a picturesque view of the Zambales mountain range. It was the perfect background for a memorable photo. Then, it was time for the main event—a thick Black Angus marbled steak cooked to a perfect medium-rare, just the way I like it. But before indulging in the steak, we were presented with a Korean-style appetizer platter, followed by a selection of Japanese sushi and a refreshing salad. These alone would have sufficed for the night, but the aroma of the steak captivated us, and we devoured it with gusto. Other tables enjoyed the 1.6 kg Tomahawk steak, some opted to cook their own steak on the table grill, while others chose lighter Korean options such as bibim magguksu, a cold noodle salad. Initially, indulging in dessert seemed impossible, but we couldn’t resist trying the Pinatubo molten lava cake. The name itself evokes the volcano that unleashed its fury on Pampanga and beyond, making it a fascinating story to share with unaware guests. Regardless of the name, the cake was heavenly—gooey, glorious, and the perfect ending to our meal.

Before retiring for the night, we were advised not to overindulge at breakfast because a brunch awaited us. It was challenging to resist the temptations at MARKT, a buffet restaurant designed to resemble a European marketplace. The counter offered cooked food, and a designated area allowed guests to have made-to-order dishes. Further down, a circular buffet displayed an array of choices, encouraging a lighter approach to dining, as we were advised. My breakfast consisted of fruit, yogurt, and a small selection of bread combinations. Markt also serves lunch and dinner, catering to a wide range of culinary preferences.

During our weekend stay, we had the pleasure of experiencing Sunday Brunch at RISTORANTE DI VERONA, starting at 11:30 am. As we entered, a DJ provided uplifting music while we indulged in modern dance. Guests had the option to dance in their chairs or stand up and burn some calories. The bartender prepared cocktails to our liking. The brunch kicked off with oysters, particularly the famous fine de claire variety from France prepared in three tantalizing ways—fresh, Rockefeller, and baked. Charcuterie choices included salami and prosciutto, accompanied by a selection of cheeses, such as Padano and gorgonzola. I couldn’t resist having Gnocchi Tartufo, my all-time favorite—a potato dumpling with a creamy truffle sauce. Thankfully, the pizzas were served in smaller sizes. For those seeking heartier options, the buffet offered choices like porchetta, Wagyu burgers, tenderloin steak, roasted chicken, salmon fillet, and codfish. And let’s not forget the extensive collection of wines on display, doubling as decor. The Italian desserts, including mascarpone cheesecake, fruit tarts, and candied banana mille feuille, were the cherry on top of this delightful brunch experience. To fully savor the taste journey, it is advisable to request a late checkout to accommodate the filling experience.

Hann Resorts boasts several other dining establishments that require more than just a two-day stay to explore fully, whether it’s the buffet of international cuisines at GOJI KITCHEN + BAR under the expert guidance of chef Robert Czeschka or the specialized Kapampangan station that offers a taste of local Kapampangan cooking, featuring renowned dishes like sisig and fermented shrimp. The Noodle Bar provides a range of Asian noodle specialties, and the menu changes frequently to offer a fresh selection. To take a break from gaming or indulge in lighter fare, head to SPICE. The establishment offers Asian street food in a clean and relaxed setting. The wok exercises and high flames add a touch of street food flair as they prepare dishes like pad Thai and various fried rice options. Quench your thirst with Asian beverages like branded beers, Philippine craft beers, spiced iced tea, coffee, and sodas. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick snack or a lavish dining experience, Spice ensures a satisfying culinary journey. With exceptional service and delectable offerings, Spice has earned its place as one of Clark’s premier dining establishments.
