Christine Baumgartner, Kevin Costner’s former partner, requires his consent to relocate artwork or furniture

Kevin Costner’s ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, is facing restrictions on what she can take from his $145 million mansion as she prepares to move out. Along with her personal belongings like clothing, toiletries, handbags, and jewelry, Baumgartner will need Costner’s permission to take any artwork, furniture, furnishings, or appliances. This update comes after Costner accused her of taking his belongings without his knowledge, with the alleged incidents increasing after she blindsided him with the divorce filing. According to documents obtained by TMZ, Costner also claimed that Baumgartner made payments to her divorce attorney using a credit card belonging to one of his employees.

The recent disagreements between the two during their messy divorce occurred shortly after a judge ruled that Costner must pay $129,000 per month in child support. While this amount was less than what Baumgartner had requested, it was more than double what Costner believed he should pay. In new court documents, Costner’s legal team accused Baumgartner of taking his property without his consent and claimed that she had been planning her exit from the marriage long before informing him of the divorce filing. The documents also alleged that Baumgartner made questionable payments, including using employee credit cards and getting cash advances paid by her ex. Additionally, Costner’s lawyers claimed that Baumgartner had purchased a luxury car before the separation, potentially to upgrade her car after the divorce.

Despite their differences, Costner stated that he is fine with Baumgartner taking her property and is open to her taking other items as long as they agree beforehand. The judge’s ruling on child support came after Baumgartner was ordered to vacate Costner’s mansion by July 31. Their prenuptial agreement reportedly required her to move out within 30 days of either party filing for divorce. Details of the agreement also stipulated that Baumgartner could keep her current car, but the new filing suggests that she may have upgraded it in anticipation of the divorce.

The $129,755 monthly child support figure is subject to change, as both Costner and Baumgartner will have an opportunity to challenge it in a future hearing. However, it is rare for the final figure to deviate significantly from the initial determination. In addition to child support, Costner was ordered to pay $200,000 for Baumgartner’s attorney fees and an additional $100,000 for forensic costs. The judge also denied Baumgartner’s request for automatic transfer payments.

Costner is being represented by well-known divorce attorney Laura Wasser, who has defended the validity of the prenuptial agreement in court. A hearing to address the agreement’s validity is scheduled for November. Overall, the divorce proceedings between Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner continue to be contentious, with accusations and disputes over property and financial matters.
