Chris Christie Reveals the Explanation Behind ‘Absurd’ Trump Crowd Size Claims

Chris Christie refuted claims that Donald Trump’s rallies draw “tens of thousands” of people, asserting that these allegations are solely driven by the former president’s ego.

In an interview with Fox News’ Shannon Bream, the former governor of New Jersey and ex-Trump ally expressed skepticism towards the “absurd” estimated number of attendees at Trump’s rallies.

“The claim that tens of thousands show up is simply not true anymore. You just need to look at the pictures,” Christie stated.

Christie went on to recount Trump’s lengthy speech at a recent Iowa campaign stop, highlighting that his claims about a deal with China were false and that he primarily focused on discussing his indictment throughout the rest of the time.

“This is not someone who is fighting for the American people and their future. It’s all about his ego,” Christie asserted.

In addition, Christie, who has criticized Trump multiple times during his campaign, emphasized that the former president’s top priority is undoing his 2020 election loss to President Joe Biden.

“But considering he’s a three-time loser, having lost the House of Representatives in 2018, the White House and the Senate in 2020, and with additional losses in 2022 of two governorships and a Senate seat, we barely managed to win the House by a five-vote margin,” Christie pointed out.

“He’s in this for himself and himself only, not for the American people,” he concluded.

During the interview, Bream asked Christie whether he is merely a “Trump spoiler” or if he has a path forward in the primaries.

Christie affirmed that he is running to win and argued that there is a demand for his candidacy.

“When you consider the polls, let’s not forget that at this same time in 2015, Donald Trump was polling at only 4%, so there’s no need for anyone to be concerned about the current polling,” he reassured.
