Body-shaming knows no boundaries, and actress Chie Filomeno unfortunately experienced this firsthand when she faced criticism for her slender physique.
In an intimate interview with the supporting cast of “A Very Good Girl” on Sunday, Sept. 24, Filomeno shared, “I’m often compared to those petite girls who are told to ‘eat more, do you even eat?'”
Despite the negative comments, Filomeno chooses not to let them bother her. She firmly believes that as long as she knows she’s healthy inside and out, she’s okay.
However, she does admit that she’s not always nice to her bashers, as everyone has their bad days. “We get hurt. We’re only human. We get hurt, we cry, and then we laugh,” she explained.
When she’s feeling particularly brave, she doesn’t hesitate to respond to her bashers. “I answer back. I shut them down using their own language. They only act tough behind their keyboards. I don’t want to give them the power to degrade me,” she confidently stated.
Filomeno revealed that she is most deeply hurt when her parents get involved in the bashing. Their opinion matters to her more than anyone else’s, especially if she doesn’t personally know those criticizing her.
Ultimately, Filomeno emphasizes the importance of focusing on the opinions of those closest to her, rather than letting the negative comments of strangers affect her.
