We embarked on a road trip from Lincolnshire with our two beloved dogs in our trusty motorhome. Upon arrival, our three adult children and their partners joined us for a relaxing vacation. The property owner went above and beyond by organizing a pasta cooking day where we indulged in local wine, meat, and cheeses. We found ourselves never wanting to leave the villa as the time spent talking and playing games with each other was simply priceless. A Magical Weekend in the Wye Valley: We had the pleasure of spending a remarkable weekend in the breathtaking Wye Valley. Three generations of our family, a total of 21 of us, gathered at a charming old eight-bedroom period house that seemed frozen in time since the 70s. Exploring the nearby Forest of Dean and hiking to stunning viewpoints from the garden made this weekend getaway even more unforgettable. Four Generations Unite in Vienna: Our extensive family, scattered across Europe and the UK, comes together every couple of years for a large family reunion in May. Throughout the years, we have visited various destinations such as Bonn, Hamburg, Berlin, Brighton, and Frankfurt, but Vienna holds a special place in our hearts. Arriving a day early, we had the opportunity to marvel at the grandeur of Schönbrunn Palace together. Throughout our stay, we strolled through the Prater, rode historic trams through the old city, and indulged in a delightful garden party. To top it off, we even had a restaurant exclusively for our family dinner. Spanish Lessons Near Barcelona: Our family embarked on a wonderful two-week adventure in Calafell, just 40 miles south of Barcelona. Accessible via the train line connecting Barcelona and Tarragona, both of which offer exciting day trip opportunities, Calafell proved to be the perfect seaside retreat. The town was brimming with inviting cafes, bars, and restaurants, offering the chance for us and our children to practice our Spanish skills. The long sandy beach was meticulously maintained, boasting plenty of showers and changing rooms. In August, the sea was wonderfully warm and gently sloped, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our little ones.
