TARRYTOWN — Train services on Metro-North’s Hudson Line and Amtrak have been disrupted as a result of a mudslide caused by inclement weather in Westchester County, according to officials from the railway agencies.
Metro-North has announced the suspension of train services between Croton-Harmon and Tarrytown. The extent of the damage and the estimated time for a return to normal service have not been determined yet.

A recent advisory from Metro-North suggests that customers consider taking the Harlem Line, as it is currently operating on a full schedule.
Hudson Line services are reduced to hourly intervals in both directions between Grand Central Terminal and Tarrytown, as well as between Croton-Harmon and Poughkeepsie. Limited bus services are available between Tarrytown and Croton-Harmon.
Amtrak’s services are also affected by the weather conditions, with several lines between Albany and New York City experiencing disruptions due to debris blocking the tracks. Train 280 has been terminated in Albany-Rensselaer, Train 238 has been canceled, and other services are expected to face delays or disruptions.

According to the National Weather Service, rain is expected to continue until at least 2 p.m. in the Tarrytown area, with a 60 percent chance of precipitation. Saturday night’s forecast includes a 30 percent chance of rain before 7 p.m., accompanied by gusty winds.
A statement from Governor Kathy Hochul’s office assures that no injuries have been reported and no one is stranded in affected areas. The priority is to restore services promptly and appreciation is expressed for the efforts of MTA personnel and emergency responders in ensuring the safety of commuters, motorists, and residents of New York.
