Chaos at Lakewood Mall as Reckless Teens Take Over: Early Closure Due to Car Climbing and Fireworks Display

In a chaotic turn of events, the Lakewood Center had to close early on Saturday night due to the unruly actions of approximately 100 teenagers. They climbed on cars, lit fireworks, and wreaked havoc in the mall’s parking lot, causing authorities to intervene.

Upon receiving a report, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lakewood Station swiftly arrived at the Lakewood Center around 8 p.m. that evening. Watch commander Sgt. Robert Martinez described the scene as dozens of disruptive teens in the area. The deputies immediately took action, attempting to disperse the teenagers and send them home.

Several social media videos captured the chaos, showing the teens running inside the mall. Deputies were seen inside stores, guiding them out of the premises. The exact motivation behind the gathering remains unknown, and it’s uncertain if any criminal activities took place. Thankfully, no arrests were made and no injuries were reported.

However, as a precautionary measure, the management decided to close the center at 7 p.m., two hours earlier than the usual Saturday closing time of 9 p.m.
