Caught on Camera: Urgent Police Manhunt for Suspect Responsible for Fatal Stabbing on Metro Red Line

Authorities are currently searching for a man who stabbed a 23-year-old passenger without any provocation onboard a Metro B (Red) Line train in downtown Los Angeles. This incident took place at around 5:20 p.m. on Thursday. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspect approached the victim, Jesse Rodriguez, pulled out a knife, and stabbed him in the chest without any warning.

Officers from the Transit Services Division at the Pershing Square Station provided immediate aid to Rodriguez until paramedics arrived. He was then taken to the hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect fled the scene on foot, and authorities last saw him going up the stairs from the underground station.

On Friday, the police released a surveillance photo of the suspect in the hopes of getting information about his identity and whereabouts. According to the description provided by the police, the suspect is approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds, and has black hair, a mustache, and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black wave cap, a black long-sleeve shirt, dark-colored pants, black shoes, and carrying a black Puma backpack.
