Thousands of Burning Man festival attendees were left stranded in the Nevada desert after heavy rain turned the event into a muddy nightmare. Organisers have now announced an “exodus” to begin on Monday 9/4. The event is popular among technology executives, venture capitalists, and social media influencers, and also attracts celebrities, hippies, and families. Burning Man, which started in San Francisco over 30 years ago, now takes place in the Nevada desert and features electronic music, light shows, and the burning of effigies. This year’s event aimed to celebrate the animal world.

Despite the challenging conditions, attendees showed resilience by packing enough supplies to last through the ordeal. Comedian Chris Rock and former US solicitor general Neal Katyal were among the famous attendees who hiked for miles to find transport and escape the muddy conditions. Reports of disease circulated on social media, but organisers assured attendees that the rumors were unfounded. Despite the adversity, attendees expressed their commitment to the event and their belief in its lasting legacy.
