It’s disheartening to see another game that we could have won slip away. As much as we all want our team to make the playoffs, we have to recognize that we won’t stand a chance if we keep playing like this. Turnovers aside, we need to stop playing not to lose and start playing to win. The play calling was impressive, but when it mattered the most, it fell short. The trick plays and formations were exciting, but what happened after the fake punt? The offense was fired up, ready to dominate, but then it all fizzled out. We were so close to sealing the game with a touchdown, yet we settled for a field goal instead. The defense did their part, but it was the offense’s time to shine, and they missed the mark. The coaching staff needs to embrace a championship mindset and lead by example. This isn’t the first time we’ve played it safe and lost. Let’s hope they learn from this and step up their game.

I believe the emphasis on protecting the football by Vikings coaches last week didn’t translate well to the game against the Vikings. It’s a critical aspect and a pivotal factor in winning or losing games in this league.
“It seems like we had a lot of strategies to secure the win, but the one thing we focused on—protecting the ball—slipped through our hands,” O’Connell expressed. “Losing the turnover battle is a decisive factor in the outcome of the game, and we need to address it and work on it because it sets us back and forces us to overcome even when we’re in the lead.”
“As we navigate through the game with these turnovers, we miss out on opportunities, time of possession, and chances to capitalize on scoring,” O’Connell added. “We need to get back to our winning ways, focusing on winning the turnover battle, capitalizing on opportunities, and executing our strategies.”
Several teams have managed to stay competitive in games this season, and Denver capitalized on their resilience.
With more than a third of the regular season remaining and injuries affecting key players during our win streak, it will be intriguing to see how things unfold, especially with four division games ahead.
