Breaking News: Woman Arrested for Arson Attacks in Reseda – Uncovering the Shocking Connection

A woman suspected of starting a series of fires involving rubbish, debris, and vegetation in the Reseda area has been charged with four counts of arson of another person’s property. Yoryett Salazar, 33, was apprehended by investigators from the LAFD’s Arson/Counter-Terrorism Section and faces felony charges. This arrest comes after the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to 14 suspicious fires within a 72-hour period in September 2023.

The prompt response from firefighters and swift calls to 9-1-1 minimized property damage and prevented injuries. While the connection between all 14 fires is yet to be established, investigators from the LAFD Arson Counter-Terrorism Section have made significant progress in identifying the person responsible for at least four of the fires.

Through witness testimonies and video footage obtained from local businesses, the investigators have confirmed that Salazar admitted to starting four of the fires. It is worth noting that she has previously faced charges related to both felonies and misdemeanors. Salazar pleaded not guilty during her court appearance in Van Nuys and will return to court on October 6. She has been in custody since her arrest.

The remaining fires are still under investigation. If you have any information regarding this case, please contact the LAFD Arson Tip Line at 213-893-9850 or email tips to [email protected].
