Sean McVay provides an exciting update on Stetson Bennett IV as the talented rookie quarterback remains on the non-football/illness list.
According to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic, McVay refrains from setting a specific timeline for Bennett’s return to the team. However, he mentions staying in touch with the former Georgia Bulldogs star and expresses optimism about his current state of mind.
“He’s making great progress, which is incredibly encouraging,” McVay shares. “I had the opportunity to speak with him and he sounds remarkably well. It was truly heartening.”

Aside from his two national championship rings, Bennett comes to Los Angeles with an impressive collection of accolades. He was among the four Heisman Trophy finalists this year, a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, and a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien Award. Additionally, he received the 2022 Burlsworth Trophy, an honor bestowed upon the nation’s exceptional player who started as a walk-on.
While Bennett’s NFL potential sparked debates during his college career, Los Angeles remained steadfast in their belief in his abilities. While his smaller stature compared to the average NFL quarterback raised some concerns, the Rams never doubted his potential.
