Breaking News: Arrest Made in Temecula Jewelry Theft Case

A 29-year-old man suspected of being involved in multiple jewelry thefts nationwide, including one in Temecula, has been apprehended and is currently in custody.

On August 28th, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a grand theft at a jewelry store in the Promenade Temecula mall. According to Sgt. Josh Hephner, a preliminary investigation indicated that the suspect entered the store and expressed interest in an expensive piece of jewelry.

As an employee handed the item to the suspect, he seized the opportunity to flee the store without making any payment. He made his escape in a white sedan. Following various leads, deputies from the Southwest Station Robbery/Burglary Suppression Team identified Jason Warren, a resident of Florida, as a person of interest.

Last Friday, Warren was apprehended and taken into custody in El Cajon, specifically in the 300 block of Fletcher Parkway. He was subsequently booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center based on suspicions of grand theft and existing warrants.

Further investigation uncovered a substantial amount of cash and jewelry inside Warren’s vehicle. It was also revealed that Warren had been involved in various other jewelry thefts across the country, resulting in an estimated loss of approximately $250,000. Additionally, he had warrants for his arrest.

Authorities believe that Warren may be responsible for additional related crimes in Southern California.
