Despite a strong showing from “Spider-Man” at over $55.4 million in its second week, “Transformers” managed to stay on top. “The Little Mermaid” followed in third with $22.7 million in its third week of release. Comscore reported that “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3” earned $7 million in its sixth week, taking fourth place, while “The Boogeyman” raked in $6.9 million in its second week. The top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were rounded out by “Fast X” ($5.2 million), “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” ($2.1 million), “About My Father” ($845,000), “The Machine” ($575,000), and “Past Lives” ($520,772). The overall weekend box office draw was estimated at $163.7 million, bringing the year-to-date total to $3.916 billion, an impressive 25% increase over last year’s figure, as per Comscore.
