Boost Wound Healing: Ruby Franke Utilizes Cayenne Pepper and Honey for Son’s Injuries

  • New details have emerged surrounding former parenting YouTuber Ruby Franke and her children.
  • According to a search warrant from Utah police, Franke’s 10-year-old son claims that Jodi Hildebrandt tied him up.
  • Franke’s son was discovered with open wounds and alleged that cayenne pepper and honey were used on his injuries, as reported by the AP.

Ruby Franke, a former parenting YouTuber, and her business partner Jodi Hildebrandt have been accused of restraining Franke’s 12-year-old son with ropes and using cayenne pepper and honey to treat his wounds, as stated in a recent search warrant.

Hildebrandt and Franke are facing six felony counts of child abuse, which pertain to the abuse of Franke’s 10-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son.

According to the warrant, obtained by The Salt Lake Tribune, Franke’s son managed to escape on August 30 after being tied up with ropes at Hildebrandt’s residence in Ivins, Utah. He informed authorities that Hildebrandt was responsible for restraining him.

The boy additionally disclosed that cayenne pepper and honey were used to treat his injuries, bringing forth further distressing allegations about the once-popular YouTubers, according to the Associated Press.

During their investigation, the police discovered bowls containing a honey and cayenne pepper mixture, a locked room in the basement, three ropes, two handcuffs, bandages, plastic wrap, a journal, and various documents, as reported by the AP.

Court documents previously examined by Insider revealed that Utah police had at least five encounters involving Franke in the years leading up to her August arrest on six felony counts of child abuse.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, when Franke’s son sought help from neighbors, the police described him as “appeared to be emaciated” and “abnormally thin and weak” in the search warrant. Franke’s children have since been placed in the custody of the state.

Franke and Hildebrandt gained online popularity through their YouTube channel, 8 Passengers, which began in 2015 and amassed approximately 2.5 million subscribers. However, the channel was shut down in 2023.

Both women have yet to enter pleas in the case, and the attorneys representing Franke and Hildebrandt have not responded to Insider’s requests for comment.

Insider’s request for the warrants from the Santa Clara-Ivins City Police Department on Thursday went unanswered.
