The box office has been shaken up by the arrival of “Blue Beetle,” which debuted with an impressive $25.4 million, surpassing the long-standing reign of “Barbie.” This latest superhero film, a collaboration between Warner Brothers and DC Comics, features Xolo Maridueña in the lead role and marks the first time in five weeks that “Barbie” has been knocked off the top spot.

Greta Gerwig’s live-action adaptation of the iconic Mattel toy, “Barbie,” secured second place with $21.5 million over the weekend, bringing its total domestic gross to over $567 million and its worldwide earnings to an impressive $1.279 billion, as reported by Comscore.

In third place, we have “Oppenheimer,” which earned $10.6 million in its fifth week.

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” claimed the fourth position with $8.4 million in its third week, closely followed by the opening of “Strays,” which amassed $8.3 million.

Completing the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, are “Meg 2: The Trench” ($6.7 million), “Talk To Me” ($3.1 million), “Haunted Mansion” ($3 million), “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One” ($2.7 million), and “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” ($2.5 million).

The three-day box office total for this weekend is estimated at $99 million, contributing to a year-to-date total of $6.484 billion. This represents a remarkable 24% increase compared to the same period last year, as reported by Comscore.
