Renowned comedian and former cast member of “Saturday Night Live,” Pete Davidson, has been charged with misdemeanor reckless driving after allegedly losing control of a Mercedes-Benz and crashing into a residence in Beverly Hills.
The incident occurred on March 4 around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Rodeo Drive and Elevado Avenue. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the collision. Davidson was reportedly behind the wheel when he lost control of the vehicle, hitting a fire hydrant before colliding with the side of a house.
TMZ sources revealed that Davidson’s girlfriend, actress Chase Sui Wonders, was also in the car at the time of the accident.
The District Attorney’s Office has announced that the 29-year-old comedian is scheduled to be arraigned on July 27.
“We firmly believe that Mr. Davidson engaged in reckless driving, which ultimately led to the unfortunate collision with a home,” stated a representative from the District Attorney’s Office. “Fortunately, no serious injuries were sustained. Nevertheless, we cannot dismiss the potentially devastating consequences of reckless driving. In fact, traffic fatalities in Los Angeles have spiked to levels not seen in the past 20 years. This alarming trend demands our attention. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that we treat all allegations of reckless driving seriously and hold those responsible accountable.”
