Aug. 7 (UPI) — In a recent Instagram post that garnered nearly 2.5 million “likes,” Bella Hadid expressed her pride in overcoming the challenges she faced. She stated, “The little me that suffered would be so proud of grown me for not giving up on myself.”
“Living with these health issues while striving to make myself, my family, and my supporters proud had taken a toll on me that words fail to describe,” wrote Hadid. Despite facing tremendous sadness and illness accompanied by blessings, privilege, opportunity, and love, she remained resilient and emerged stronger.
She added, “I want to reassure all of you that I am okay and there is no need to worry. I also want to emphasize that I wouldn’t change anything I went through. If I had to endure it all again to reach this exact moment of being healthy and surrounded by all of you, I would do it without hesitation. This journey has shaped me into the person I am today.”
Additionally, Hadid shared screenshots of her health records and images from her treatment, providing a glimpse into her battle against chronic illnesses. She concluded her post, hinting at a return to work by saying, “I’ll be back when I’m ready. I miss you all so much.”
Gigi Hadid, Bella’s sister and fellow model, commented on the post expressing her love, pride, and happiness for Bella. Their mother, Yolanda Hadid, and brother, Anwar Hadid, were also diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012, but Bella experienced more severe symptoms and complications, as reported by People.com.
