Bandai Namco has recently announced the establishment of “Studio 2 & Studio S,” a new development studio focused on “commissioned development projects,” including Nintendo titles such as Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart. The studio has a track record of contributing to world-class titles, including newer IPs like ARMS.
“BANDAI NAMCO Studio 2nd Studio/S Studio has been an in-house studio specializing in commissioned development projects. We have cooperated in the development of many world-standard titles such as ‘SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE,’ ‘Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,’ and ‘Mario Kart Tour,'” the developer’s website states.
The studio is currently seeking candidates for various roles, with a specific emphasis on “3D action” games featuring a “side view” perspective. These positions may be related to either new or existing intellectual properties.
Several job listings explicitly mention that they are “commissioned by Nintendo,” aligning with Bandai Namco’s description of the studio as handling “contracted development projects” within the company. The website also features company facts, staff interviews, and updates on the studio’s projects.
Stay tuned for any further updates.
