Amazon is organizing a second major sales event similar to Prime Day in October, as confirmed in an official announcement published on their website. The event, named “Prime Big Deal Days,” aims to attract customers who plan to start their holiday shopping early.

The exact dates for the event have not been disclosed, but it will be held in 19 countries. Last year, Amazon introduced two separate shopping events for its $139-per-year Prime loyalty club members, with mixed results according to third-party analysts.

Prime Day was first introduced by Amazon in 2015. This discount extravaganza serves multiple purposes, such as attracting new Prime subscribers, promoting Amazon’s products and services, and boosting sales during the middle of the year.

In July, Amazon held a 48-hour Prime Day event that resulted in a 6.1% increase in U.S. online sales, totaling $12.7 billion, according to Adobe Analytics. The company reported selling 375 million items globally during the event and recently issued optimistic guidance for the third quarter, reflecting the strong performance of Prime Day.

The upcoming Prime Day sequel takes place amidst concerns of a lackluster holiday spending season for retailers this year, as indicated by the latest CNBC Supply Chain Survey. Approximately two-thirds of respondents anticipate consumers searching for discounts, and 71% predict a reduction in spending due to inflation.
