Alleged Gang-Related Shooting in Azusa Leaves One Dead and Two Teenagers Injured

A tragic incident unfolded in Azusa as a gang-related shooting claimed the life of a young man and left two others injured. The incident occurred in front of an apartment complex on the 200 block of East Newburgh Street, west of South Azusa Avenue, late Friday night. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies arrived at the scene at 11:01 p.m. to discover the deceased victim, identified as 20-year-old Carlos Cruz of Azusa, alongside a 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man who were both wounded. Initial investigations revealed that several culprits walked up and fired multiple rounds, striking all three victims. The suspects fled the scene on foot, and their whereabouts remain unknown. Homicide detectives from the Azusa Police Department and the sheriff’s department are conducting a thorough investigation to bring the culprits to justice.
