A 24-year-old woman was apprehended on Wednesday for suspected child endangerment after allegedly leaving her toddler unattended in a stroller in Larchmont Village and failing to return.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, responding officers arrived in the 100 block of North Larchmont Boulevard near First Street around 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday in response to an unattended child. A passerby had discovered the toddler sitting in a stroller and became worried about the whereabouts of the child’s parents. Despite a thorough search of the area by detectives, the child’s parents could not be found.
During a preliminary investigation, detectives found an ID belonging to the child’s mother, who was identified as Targie Alexandre. KTLA 5 reported that the child is a girl, aged either 2 or 3 years old. Although the child seemed to be in good health, she was taken to a hospital for evaluation. The father of the child was eventually located, but the details of his discovery were not disclosed by detectives.
Alexandre was apprehended at her workplace and taken into custody on charges of felony child endangerment. She was booked into custody with a set bail of $105,000.
