After a 148-day-long strike by over 10,000 writers and actors, the writers’ union and studios have come to an agreement regarding the future of AI. This strike brought the industry to a standstill as workers fought against the potential undermining of their work by AI technology.
In a significant victory for writers, the studios have agreed to a set of groundbreaking rules governing the use of AI in Hollywood projects. The Musicians Union (MU), representing over 33,000 artists in the UK, sees this agreement as a precedent for protecting songwriters and performers from the threats posed by AI.
