After 18 Years, The Rolling Stones Set to Unveil Brand-New Original Album

Band members Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood are set to be interviewed on September 6th in Hackney, east London by American TV host Jimmy Fallon. This marks the first time in 18 years that The Rolling Stones have released an album of new original material since their last LP, “A Bigger Bang.” Their previous studio release in 2016, titled “Blue & Lonesome,” consisted of blues covers.

Teasers for the new music have been shared online, as well as in a local newspaper advert in the Hackney Gazette. The advert included a website and phone number, which when called, played an automated message about a glass repair company called Hackney Diamonds. This term is old east London slang for broken glass, specifically referring to shattered windows from robberies.

The band also shared the website on their Instagram page, which features a design that resembles broken glass. Interacting with the site causes the glass to break away, revealing a page with a countdown to the September 6th interview. Additionally, another website, dontgetangrywithme.com, offers a preview of a new song.

Discussing the album, the band expressed their desire to share this “truly global moment” with fans worldwide through a live-streamed interview on YouTube. Fans can tune in to the interview at 2:30 PM BST on September 6th.

Formed in the early 1960s, The Rolling Stones have left an indelible mark on the music industry. They were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1989 by The Who’s Pete Townshend. With eight number one singles in the UK, including hits like “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” “Paint It, Black,” and “Honky Tonk Women,” the band’s influence is undeniable.

Last year, the Stones embarked on their 60th-anniversary tour, performing in cities across Europe and headlining the British Summer Time (BST) festival in London. The tour marked a bittersweet moment with the absence of their long-time drummer, Charlie Watts, who passed away in August 2021. Steve Jordan joined the band on drums for the tour.
