Aer Lingus Job Alert: Now Hiring 200 Cabin Crew with Impressive Salaries, Perks, and Height Requirements

Discounted travel, designer uniforms, and the opportunity to explore the world are just a few of the perks offered by Aer Lingus in their major cabin crew recruitment drive. As the face of the airline, they are looking for over 200 new cabin crew members to join their team.

Following in the footsteps of Ryanair and Emirates, Aer Lingus is ramping up its hiring efforts to meet the growing demand for post-pandemic travel. Offering fixed-term contracts, the basic salary starts at €24,617.39 (gross) with an additional variable pay of around €6,500 per year (gross). While Ryanair offers entry-level salaries of up to €27,000, tax-free salaries at Emirates can reach over €31,000.

To apply for a position as an Aer Lingus cabin crew member, applicants must meet several requirements. They must be at least 18 years old and eligible to live and work in the Republic of Ireland. Additionally, they must be able to swim 25m unaided, tread water, board a raft from the water unaided, and hold a valid passport allowing unrestricted worldwide travel. Candidates should also have at least 12 months of combined experience in a face-to-face customer service or sales role, be fluent in spoken and written English, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be flexible with working shifts and unsociable hours, and be willing to adhere to the uniform policy (visible tattoos and piercings are not allowed). Successful applicants will need to pass an airport security vetting procedure, including a five-year background check.

Aer Lingus has set a height requirement of 158cm to ensure cabin crew members can operate doors and access safety equipment stored overhead. Furthermore, cabin crew must be able to reach into compartments that are 180cm high and retrieve items that are 40cm inside the compartment.

Working in partnership with Nobox, this recruitment drive comes as Aer Lingus expands its European and North American routes. Next year, they will introduce new transatlantic services to Denver and Minneapolis-St. Paul. Applications for cabin crew positions are open until September 29th, and candidates will go through preliminary assessments, interviews, height and reach assessments, and a one-on-one Uniform Adherence check. Successful candidates will then undergo an intensive six-week paid training program at Aer Lingus’ Training Academy in Dublin, taking place from January to May of next year. The training will cover short-haul routes on Airbus A320 aircraft and long-haul flights on Airbus A321 neos.

In addition to the basic salary, Aer Lingus cabin crew members receive applicable allowances for overnight duties away from base and are provided with a designer uniform designed by Louise Kennedy. They also have access to staff travel discounts and can enjoy discounts with partner airlines, hotels, and car hire companies. Furthermore, cabin crew members receive a staff discount at Dublin Airport’s Loop duty-free shopping.

While Ryanair’s recent open days have passed, Emirates is still conducting open days in Ireland this month. Interested applicants can visit the Emirates website for more information. To apply for a cabin crew position at Aer Lingus, visit their official careers page on the aerlingus.com website.
