A man has been accused of the heinous crimes of possessing child pornography and secretly recording a young girl in a Fullerton park restroom. The suspect, identified as Jacob Anthony Arriola, aged 33, is facing multiple charges, including felony possession or control of child pornography.
Prosecutors have also charged Arriola with misdemeanors such as using a minor to distribute obscene materials, using a concealed recording device without consent, and secretly videotaping another person in partial dress and peeping. These charges are outlined in court records.
Arriola pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Tuesday and is currently being held on $20,000 bail. He has been ordered to appear in court again on August 2nd for a pretrial hearing at the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
The specific incident involving the 12-year-old girl took place in Valencia Park. Arriola allegedly followed her into a restroom and recorded her using a phone. The girl promptly informed her parents, who ultimately apprehended the suspect until law enforcement officers arrived. The Fullerton Police took Arriola into custody, and during their investigation, they discovered a hidden wireless camera in the restroom. Additionally, they found child pornography on Arriola’s electronic devices.
The Orange County District Attorney’s Office has stated that there may be other victims in this case. They urge anyone who believes they may have been victimized to contact the Fullerton Police Department.
