A Mother of Five: Unmatched Warrior Spirit in Safeguarding Children

The ongoing battle between parents and school officials has reached new heights, with politicians like President Biden asserting that children belong to the state rather than their parents.

In Maryland, a heated confrontation is taking place over books with seemingly harmless titles such as “Pride Puppy,” “Born Ready,” and “Prince & Knight,” all of which explore LGBTQ+ themes. Parents are requesting the option for their children to opt out of reading these books. This case is just one example of a growing trend across the country, leaving parents frustrated as educators tell them to mind their own business.

During a conference I attended last spring, a fellow speaker mentioned the term “radicalized moms,” referring to mothers who have become disillusioned with the ideologies tearing our nation apart. Although it was a new term to me, the reality of it is not.

I became “radicalized” long before the pandemic awakened the same sentiment in many others. The fierce determination felt by mothers like me is unwavering. Moms across America have reached their breaking point with the current state of our country. Don’t underestimate our resolve.

WOKE CULTURE HAS GONE TOO FAR FOR THIS MOM

Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin of Virginia successfully appealed to frustrated moms and dads, both Republicans and Democrats alike, who are concerned about what they perceive as indoctrination in local schools. Additionally, grassroots moms’ groups like Moms for America and Moms for Liberty have gained traction nationwide.

These moms’ networks empower women who have previously felt isolated and ineffective in cultural battles. Just like Phyllis Schlafly and the Eagle Forum, who halted the Equal Rights Amendment in the 1970s, the founders of these groups are not well-known figures or celebrities; they are ordinary women with vast networks who deeply care about America’s socialist drift.

However, not everyone views conservative moms engaging in politics as a positive development. The Department of Homeland Security under the Biden administration has categorized pro-life moms as “radicalization suspects” or even “domestic terrorists,” particularly those who vocalize their concerns at school board meetings.

Even the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has joined the criticism by labeling Moms for Liberty as extremists. The SPLC accuses them of advocating for the abolition of the Department of Education, promoting conspiracy theories, and spreading hateful rhetoric against the LGBTQ+ community.

The vigilance of the Department of Justice and the SPLC is understandable. If Schlafly and a group of determined moms could stop the ERA, imagine what might happen if mothers across America start speaking up, engaging with their peers, sharing their concerns on social media, and, worst of all, unraveling years of indoctrination of their own children. These actions spell trouble ahead, which also threatens the unwavering support Democratic politicians have traditionally relied upon from female voters.

MOMS FOR LIBERTY EMBODY THE SPIRIT OF OUR FOUNDING FATHERS

Moms strike fear in the hearts of many because of their unparalleled determination and perseverance. Their commitment is unwavering, as their main focus is what is best for their families and their children.

Motherhood is not for the faint of heart. Since becoming a mother, I have earned a doctorate degree and published ten books. I often wonder if I would have possessed the same discipline had I remained single.

One of the most challenging moments in my life as a mom occurred shortly after giving birth to my third child. My older two children fell ill, and I was facing a looming deadline for my dissertation. While my 4-year-old managed to sleep through the night, my 2-year-old was struggling with a severe chest cold. I spent the entire night sitting on the floor next to her, ensuring her cold didn’t escalate to pneumonia, all while diligently working on my dissertation.

Every two hours, my husband, who was sleeping elsewhere, brought our newborn son to me for nursing. At 3:30 a.m., I remember thinking that the situation was so absurdly difficult it felt surreal. But we made it through. I often recall that night whenever I face challenges, as every subsequent deadline has paled in comparison.

ALABAMA MOM’S CONCERNS ABOUT HER KIDS’ FUTURES GO VIRAL: ‘IT’S NOT THE SAME’

Experiences like these, combined with copious amounts of coffee, have taught me to push beyond my own inclinations and focus on what needs to be done instead of what I personally want to do. These are the demands that make moms a formidable force.

In my book, “The End of Woman: How Smashing the Patriarchy Has Destroyed Us,” I shed light on the strong women who have been largely overlooked by American institutions, from Hollywood to academia, fashion magazines to politics. These forgotten women, living in middle America, are seldom represented in the media or popular culture. They are the everyday women who, through their acts of love, keep this country together.

I write in my book, “From Maine to Hawaii, these women have willingly embraced the demanding and self-sacrificial love required when one person genuinely loves another. They carry children in their wombs, their arms, their hearts, and their minds. They understand the importance of a gentle embrace from tiny arms, the sweetness of a child’s learning to offer kisses, the bombardment of questions from a curious mind, and the challenges presented by teenagers – sometimes all within the same hour.

“Some of them experience the struggles of raising children with disabilities. Others know the profound void that will never be filled when a child or children are lost. However, not a single one of these mothers regrets bringing another soul into the world.”

These are the women who are deemed “radicalized,” and they are the moms who will help reshape our world, one household at a time.

No one fights like a mother.
