However, it was later renamed after identical twins Aaron and Moses Wilcox, who purchased 4,000 acres of land and attracted more settlers by offering affordable tracts. As a condition of their donation of land for a public square and a school, the town was renamed Twinsburg. The Wilcox twins, who married sisters, were so identical that only those who were very close to them could tell them apart. They even passed away on the same day, though the specific illness was not recorded.
