Fortnite’s latest season brings a variety of changes, including an overhaul of the movement mechanics. However, not everyone is on board with the changes.

The newest season of Fortnite has arrived, and alongside some server issues, it has introduced numerous modifications. Chapter 5, Season 1, also known as “Underground,” is one of the game’s most expansive seasons to date, featuring weapon modifications, new game modes, and a revamped Peter Griffin character.

In addition to the prominent alterations, a less-heralded update has been the new movement mechanics. Chapter 5 introduces wall climbing and brings back hurdling after it was removed in Chapter 4, Season 1.

Surprisingly, one player suggested that it might be a placebo effect. “The problem is the upper body doesn’t shake as much so it’s creating a placebo that you’re walking slow. But placebo or not, the movement doesn’t feel smooth.”

However, that opinion wasn’t widely shared, with many asserting that the movement is indeed slow, not just a trick of the eyes.

It’ll be interesting to see how Epic addresses these claims, as the new movement was an intended change for Chapter 5. Read more
